I am going to buy a 27 foot diameter above ground swimming pool. There is a pretty level part to my back yard, but it's still going to need to be leveled some more so I can meet the installation requirements. Is this something that I can do myself, or do I have to contract this out and have a professional do it?

In general, site preparation is the most difficult part of the pool installation process. However, some homeowners do indeed do this work themselves…but it may require some rental equipment and some strong backs.
The pool installers from the store will do this work for you…at a price. If you really want to do your own site work, you can level the site with either a surveryor’s transom or a long, straight board and a long level. Generally, you want the site to be within one inch in height all the way around the pool.
